Located in Childers, Queensland, Oz Tuff Turf is a family owned turf farming business specialising in the development, production and supply of quality turf varieties, turf products and aligned turf services.

Providing quality turf varieties for Australian conditions

Owner of Oz Tuff Turf, Bill Morrow, explains the commitment to quality turf this way. “We identify the best grasses for our tough Australian conditions.  We grow and distribute high quality PBR turf varieties that meet our customer’s specific needs.  However, we also recognise that some of our customers require low budget options also so we ensure we grow an appropriate range of budget turf varieties also.”

Oz Tuff Turf gains Plant Breeders Rights

Oz Tuff Turf recently gained Plant Breeders Rights (PBR) for Oz Tuff Green* - a green couch variety developed on the turf farm in Childers, Queensland.  Following salt tolerance trials conducted by the Department of Primary Industries and Fisheries at their Redland Research Centre in Queensland, Oz Tuff Green was found to be the most salt tolerant green couch variety available in both Australia and the US.

Further Oz Tuff Green trials are currently underway in Australia and the USA to compare Oz Tuff Green with other varieties known for the wear tolerance, low growing profile and drought tolerance.  For more information about Oz Tuff Green, contact contact us.

The business’ focus on the supply of premium turf to customers throughout Central and South-East Queensland has expanded in recent years to include:

• development of new turf varieties to suit a wide range of environmental conditions,  
• licensing of Oz Tuff Green, the first of our new turf varieties to be released for distribution nationally, and 
• provision of turf products and services to meet the changing needs of customers.
